ROUTE BENAOJÁN And MONTEJAQUE

The first route accessible from the Hotel Fuerte Grazalema is a circular path that passes by the Llanos del Republicano, Llanos de Libar, Las Escaleretas, Benaoján y Montejaque. Along this path, trekkers can follow old bandit trails across cork and pine forests and along a winding river. This offers medium to high difficulty for travellers, offering a wide variety of vegetation, bird watching and stunning views of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.

Another route included in the package is the Grazalema Circular path, offering a 7.5km walking area around the border of the picturesque village of Grazalema. From here, guests can find highlights, including the El Corredor del Boyar, a natural geometric centre, a central historic district and the division of the province and the Cádiz Bay, not to mention glimpses of many species of birds of prey.

RUTA AL PINSAPAR, RABEL PLAINS Ó GARGANTA VERDE

This last choice offers three different options for travellers to explore Grazalema – the Pinsapar Trail, the Rabel Plain or the Garganta Verde.

On the Pinsapar, hikers follow a trail that runs along the northern slope of the Sierra del Pinar, offering stunning views of the beautiful fir forests. Along the Rabel Plains trail, trekkers begin in the El Puerto de los Acebuches and run parallel to the Ballesteros stream and along the northern slope of the Cerro el Montón. Visitors should especially be on the lookout for magnificent views and sightings of royal eagles, soaring hawks and snakes down below.

La Garganta Verde offers a decidedly different point of entry with a path cut forty meters deep by the Pinar River. Along the way, hikers can take in commentary and history of the area as they make their way to towards the Ermita Cave. They can also catch a glimpse of a member of the Griffon vulture colony that live there.
