The Hotel Fuerte El Rompido Has Reopened Its Doors With Big Plans

After a long winter break, the Southern Spanish destination has returned with an extended range of leisure, cultural and sports amenities, all designed to offer guests something far more than just sun and sand.

Located in Cartaya (Huelva), the Hotel Fuerte El Rompido reopened its doors today for the summer season with a new sense of “optimism and newness”. “Our goal is to do more than just maintain the positive results from last year,” said hotel director Tomeu Roig, adding that the hotel was committed to creating an experience that “breaks the seasonality of the tourism industry.”

What this means, Roig explained, is to “substantially extend our range of leisure, cultural and sporting options” with the aim of “offering travellers a destination that goes far beyond just sun and sand.” To meet this goal, the Fuerte team has prepared numerous new programs and plans, including outdoor concerts, painting workshops with local artists, as well as a package of cultural and sporting activities for tourists to enjoy. These will include outings to enjoy the beauty of the nearby Marismas del Río Piedras and Flecha de El Rompido natural reserves.

Guests will also be able to try their hand at horseback riding and kayaking and Segway tours to help truly enjoy the local environment.

It is this all-encompassing approach to the guest’s experience, offered Roig that has set the Fuerte El Rompido apart and “has characterized us since our opening”. This has been most evident by the selection by TUI as 16th among the world’s 100 most sustainable hotels in the world for the 6th consecutive year.

The Fuerte Hotel Rompido’s commitment to environmental management and protection are also on display with the creation of a greenhouse last year, “which was very popular among our clientele”. This year, the greenhouse area will host the planting of a native specific coastal juniper that is in danger of extinction.

With the opening of Fuerte El Rompido, Fuerte Hotels now has all establishments open ahead of the summer season – Fuerte Marbella and Fuerte Miramar (also in Marbella), Fuerte Calaceit (between Torrox and Nerja), Fuerte Estepona, Fuerte Conil -Fuerte Costa Luz and Grazalema.
