Tower Beach, as it is popularly known, is named after the beacon that towers over this site, a construction that formed part of the surveillance system of the Mediterranean coast during the 16th century against incursions by Barbary pirates.<\/p>\n

This beach is some 4,100 feet long and 394 feet wide. It is a very quiet beach located in the north of the city that borders La Atunara Beach to the south and La Hacienda Beach to the north. It has dark sand and the sea usually has moderate waves.<\/p>\n
