Once we have climbed to the Puerto del Boyar, we recommend stopping to admire the beautiful views from this spot, just to the left before starting to go back down. Before starting the route, we need to get our strength up, don&#8217;t we? Breakfast time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>9:00 a.m. Breakfast in Venta Juli\u00e1n<\/h2>\n<p>Upon entering the town of El Bosque, and once past the bridge over the Majaceite, on the right is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/x2MUfCfoppGksTyN7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venta Juli\u00e1n<\/a><\/strong>, a meeting point for hikers, bikers, cyclists and climbers who gather early in the morning to have a good breakfast and to get the strength to start the activity.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-50027\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tostada-zurrapa-credito-grupoboga.jpg\" alt=\"tostada con zurrapa credito grupoboga.es\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tostada-zurrapa-credito-grupoboga.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tostada-zurrapa-credito-grupoboga-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tostada-zurrapa-credito-grupoboga-600x394.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tostada-zurrapa-credito-grupoboga-450x295.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We recommend a good muffin with liver or pork zurrapa, one of the delights that this area offers. However, the classic tomato, prosciutto and oil is always a hit. This shop has been open since 1971 offering the best local produce in the area, all kinds of local cheeses and sausages, a tradition which has now reached its third generation. It is still run today by Juli\u00e1n&#8217;s family.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>10 a.m. Point of Departure<\/h2>\n<p>Once you have enjoyed breakfast and our body has the calories needed to start the route, it is time to start walking. We can walk from Venta Juli\u00e1n to the start point, next to the Youth Hostel (easy to find by asking a local or just checking Google Maps) or return by car to the entrance of the village, where we will find a sign pointing to the Majaceite route along a stone walkway that leads to the farm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-50033\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rio-majaceite-cartel.jpg\" alt=\"Cartel r\u00edo Majaceite Grazalema\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rio-majaceite-cartel.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rio-majaceite-cartel-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rio-majaceite-cartel-600x394.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blog.fuertehoteles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/rio-majaceite-cartel-450x295.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once parked, it will be easy to find the sign indicating the road, right next to the bridge which crosses the river. The trail follows the crystal clear river and riverside vegetation, taking us into a forest full of poplar, ash and elm trees. The wild fig tree is one that we can see more on this tour, where we will also have the luxury of listening to birds like orioles, sandpipers, blackbirds, robins and even a kingfisher. The denser vegetation leads us to a humid environment where the smell of fern invites us to breathe clean air. On the trail, we stumble across some ruins of watermills which used to grind wheat. Here you can have lunch while listening to the noise of water splashing downstream. Here a wide selection of meats and cheeses are available to taste, as well as cold beer and local wines. Ask for tagarninas if they are in season and, of course, payoyo cheese! Afterwards, a coffee will come in handy to get us back on track.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Venta El Buj\u00edo. Due to the low difficulty, going back down on the same path will not be difficult, quite the opposite. At 5 pm, we will be back in El Bosque.
