The Charm Of The Andalucian Patio Courtyards in Beautiful Conil

    Patio andaluz

The Andalucian patio possess art, charm and history. Each year, thousands of visitors are drawn to the area to discover these spaces that play with light, air, architecture and where plants play the lead role. Despite this popularity, not everyone knows just where these spaces came from.

The Andalucian patio has two origin stories, descending from both Roman and Arabic influences, as both cultures were defined by a careful intimacy when it came to family life and the design of a home around it – out of sight of passers by.

This type of urban architecture comes from Rome and was welcomed by the Arabs much later.

Today, you can find preserved courtyards in many corners of Andalucia, especially in the Albaicin in Granada.

The courtyards are usually adorned with plants and flowers, while many feature water fountains that cool the atmosphere from their central placement. Also, a canopy can be included to protect the entrance from sunlight that can prove to be far too strong during the summer months.
